Google Product Search Setup

by Jim July 27, 2011

If you are an Australian retailer with an online store, get your Google product search setup. Google Product Search launched back in 2009 but was only rolled out in Australia earlier this year. Here is an example of how it is now appearing in the SERPS. Google Product Search Setup For us it is now a standard part of any new ecommerce site build or optimisation job. It’s so important to do as Google is always trying to provide the most relevant results to its users. So when the algorithm is picking up signals that the user is in purchasing mode, it will deliver product search, images if relevant (i.e. apparel), adwords of course and place data if necessary. If your site is not setup for any or all of these you are missing out on business.

PESA Conference

It was my first time at the PESA Conference and I learned a lot from a group of very experienced online retailers. I spoke at a couple of sessions and in this week’s Vlog I touch on some of the more interesting bits as well some misunderstandings about product search.
