I tell this method to people a lot but they never do it. I don’t know whether they think it sounds too easy so they don’t try it but if I want to rank for a difficult phrase this is how I do it. These steps presuppose that you don’t have other horrible things wrong with your site.
Step 1. Write an article on your chosen key phrase. The one I’m tracking in today’s video is “Opencart SEO” which we wrote a couple of blog posts about a few weeks ago. In that new blog post you create make sure you follow these steps.
Step 2. Write another article with a very similar title to the first and clearly label it part two in the series. Make sure you use graphics and headings like the first one with your keywords in them. At the top of the article link back to the first article clearly labelling for the user where they can find part one in this series.
Step 3. Go back to the first article and at the end of it add a piece of text telling the reader where part two of the article is. You may need to get Google to refetch the original after you do this.
If you have a look at our first article on Opencart SEO and then our second part in the same series you can clearly see this technique in play which got us ranking on page one. To rank higher we’d need to create more content on the topic.
