In January of last year I wrote a blog post and shot a video about Sensis becoming an authorised Google AdWords reseller. The jist of the video was that Sensis was raising the white flag on its big yellow book and moving online while still charging by the bucketload for its print ads.
We got a lot of comments when the post went live, but just yesterday Yellow Pages decided to weigh in themselves. No, not Sensis’ Yellow Pages, but the company who runs Yellow Pages in Canton, Ohio. We have no idea how they found us either, but I’m sure they didn’t use their book.
The comment went a little something like this:
Our first thoughts were to laugh it off, especially since no one in the office could think of a single person they knew that still used the Yellow Pages. But then we got thinking, maybe we’re wrong? Maybe people don’t use Google and instead pull out their dusty Yellow Pages when they need to find a business. Admittedly we are in pretty deep when it comes to Google.
So we decided to run a little Facebook poll on our Timeline and ask you guys instead.
Yellow Pages say paper directory usage is up. Do you know anyone still using it?
If you use Yellow Pages, either online or offline, we’d love to hear your take on it! Head over to our Facebook Page to vote and feel free to leave any comments below!
