Hey, welcome back Rankers, how are you going? It’s been a big week for AI. We’re now two years down the track since Generative AI was released upon the world, and the announcements coming out from the big players, OpenAI and Google, over the last week have been astounding.
From my perspective, Google has won the day—primarily because of the products they’re shipping, which are quite amazing. OpenAI has made waves too; everyone can now use search in ChatGPT. However, Google’s new Gemini model 2.0, with integrated search functionality, really gives us a glimpse of where this is all heading.
Eighteen months ago, I was working with a tool that allowed us to generate search reports via the internet. I’ve used it extensively, and as I mention in my book, “Beyond Google: Mastering Search in a World of AI Assistants“, there are also other search engines that large language models can leverage. Tools like Tivoli, which I used to build my own search engine, and Paradigm, which integrates with the XR search engine, have been game changers. Now, Google has brought similar features into their own tools. This is crucial because it enables real-time, up-to-date information retrieval, turning hours of research into seconds of work.
This week has brought a lot of shiny new tools from Google, but, unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to explore them due to a dislocated shoulder. While recovering, I’ve been reflecting on how to stay focused and avoid getting distracted by the allure of AI novelties. The key for me has always been efficiency, cost-saving, and, most importantly, better output for clients.
Over the years, we’ve developed several tools, from Chrome plugins to custom GPTs. Our most popular creation is the Buyer Persona Generator, available to anyone with a free OpenAI account. This tool has now evolved into something much more powerful.
Our team has taken the Buyer Persona Generator to the next level. We’ve created a 10-page report that includes detailed analysis, screenshots, and actionable insights. This report was generated for one of our product pages at StewArt Media. These reports are essentially lead generators and don’t take long to produce, though they do cost us money.
The insights I’ve gained from these reports are invaluable. For example, it has helped identify areas where our product pages can improve. The Buyer Persona Generator analyses the ideal audience for a given product page, helping us tailor ads and content more effectively. However, it’s also revealed some areas where adjustments are needed to better align with our target audience.
Another valuable feature of the report is the SWOT analysis—Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats—based on the Buyer Persona and the product page. The opportunities section, in particular, has sparked great content ideas. For instance, it’s identified potential gaps in our messaging and areas to explore further.
