Had a great day yesterday. Whilst talking with clients they will often say thanks, it’s rare though to get two in one day to take the time to analyse their bottom line and then make contact with me and say thank you. That’s what happened yesterday. Both clients had been part of what I call digital marketing’s holy trinity ( It’s ok I’m allowed to do Catholic jokes). SEO, Adwords and Facebook ads.
You may already know I was schooled on Facebook ads by the blokes Sean Callanan & Steve Vallas 18 months ago. Since then we’ve been looking at each client and working out where we can use FB ads for them. Heck even I use them. Then last October Google Shopping came out of beta which was an absolute boon for ecommerce sites. It was at that point I decided to crank up the emphasis that we put on these new advertising products with our existing SEO clients. The other growing area of our business that flows on from this is Conversion Rate Optimisation.
SEO traffic is the foundation of all online marketing. It only gets cheaper over time. Think of Google like a tour guide. It listens to it’s users and what they want and decides on the best sites to show them based on their request. Why on earth would Google want to take users to a seedy, run down, busted, slow, disease ridden, dilapidated virtual ghost town?
Before you can even think about ranking, you’ve got to get the place looking nice. That’s the bit that takes time. Which is why we base our pricing on how much time we spend with a client. What we do now though is look at what percentage of our client’s time budget we can use on Adwords & Facebook whilst we’re waiting for the SEO to kick in. We buy the tourists in by the bus load in the short term knowing that in the longer term we will become a natural awesome destination. Ok analogy broken.
We don’t just use these platforms for our clients but for ourselves too. I’ve been so blown away by the results we’re seeing for clients I’ve finally extracted the digit, to get some of our own products developed. We’ve already brought out the site audit report, which I have been told by more than one person is too cheap. SO yep, I will be bumping up the price on that one soon. Next month I’ll also be launching a digital ranking system for bloggers and I will be using SEO, Facebook and adwords marketing to target them as I have described in today’s video.
