A technical sheet is part of the buying journey

If you sell machinery, components or chemical products, the buyer may need technical information before they can decide. Do not make them hunt for the document or guess which product it belongs to.

Give the resource a clear title and link it from the relevant product page. Where possible, provide a useful route from the document back to that product and your contact details.

Add context without changing the facts

Explain what the document covers, which product or version it applies to and where the information came from. Keep manufacturer specifications accurate. Obtain permission before adapting or rebranding someone else’s document.

Do not change a technical sheet merely to make it different from a competitor’s copy. Useful context matters more than cosmetic uniqueness. Review document metadata for meaningful titles and authorship rather than filling it with keywords.

Keep the resource dependable

Check that the document is readable and usable on the devices your buyers use. Review links when products or specifications change, and make revisions clear so an old sheet is not mistaken for the current one.

A resource may be linked from elsewhere long after publication. Preserve its address where practical, or give visitors a relevant replacement when it moves.
